Morning walk: Lower Sainswick
- Explore the vast gardens behind Batheaston House (huge Georgian manor house)
- Hour long walk by the Avon via the canal path
- Enjoyed sheep grazing, willow structures, and massive oak and elm trees on the banks of the river
- Switch back to opposite side of the river to see the water side of Batheaston House
- Find an alternate Public Foot Path via a very steep climb to rejoin the High St. back to Cliffside
Fox Talbot House
- Early 17thC Hall chairs - Sgabello style - Made from Baltic oak - Trompe L'oil painted to look like ceramic - circa 1630’s
- Asian Armadillio looking animal is a Pangolin - on the endangered animal list
- Most medieval paintings do not have a wedding ring placed on figures hands - but this one painting shows the ring on a ladies hand with a chain wrapped around her wrist
- Great hall with family shields on the ceiling and wall-mounted statues was created in the 1700’s for the wow factor of an entrance
