Cahersiveen to Wexford - 6/16/23

 9:30 AM

  • Packed and ready to leave our charming Irish Cottage by the Sea in Cahersiveen, or Cazi, as one of the locals called the town and drive to Wexford for an overnight stay before catching an early (7:30AM) ferry to Fishguard, Wales

11:00 AM
  • Stop for coffee in Kilarney

12:00 PM
  • We planned to tour Blarney castle and "Kiss the Blarney Stone", but upon arrival, the crowds and the hour long wait to get in discouraged us and we moved on
2:30 PM
  • Lunch in Cobh ( Pronounced "Cove) proves to be a wonderful choice at the SeaSalt cafe
    • Middle eastern influenced, fresh and very tasty
  • We discover that there is much history in this port town
    • Recovered over 700 survivors from the wreck of the Lusitania
    • Cunard had a shipping office located here
    • Still a thriving port with cruise ships docking every day

4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
  • Mostly rainy drive from Cobh to Wexford
  • Arrive at the Clinton White Hotel for our last night in Ireland
